Physical Education Regulations
Uniform:
- The uniform will consist of shorts or sweatpants and T-shirt in accordance with the school’sdress code.
- Sneakers must be worn and Socks must be worn.
- Long hair must be tied back.
- All jewelry, including watches, must be removed.
- Please have appropriate apparel on hand for outdoor activities in cool weather.
Locks and Lockers:
- Gym lockers must be locked after all gym classes, and valuables should be locked up during class.The school is not responsible for articles lost or stolen.
- Everyone must obtain a gym lock from the Physical Education department.
- Sharing lockers is not allowed. Combinations to other students’ lockers will not be given out.
- All gym clothes must be taken home for laundering periodically and during vacations.
Conduct:
- You are given seven minutes to get to class and change.
- You are to conduct yourself in a safe/orderly manner, and use appropriate behavior at all times or a deduction in your grade will occur.
- Total participation is required at all times.
- Gum chewing is not allowed.
- No food or drink will be allowed in the locker room or gym.
- No glass is allowed in the locker room.
Students Computers:
- Computers must be locked in lockers at All times.
- Absolutely NO computers usage in gym locker rooms at any given time. If so, computers will be taken immediately and handed in to the technology office.
- The school is not responsible for any damaged or stolen computers.
*S or S+ is required for honor roll. Up to 2 classes per marking period may be made up through prior arrangements with Mr. Erdmann or Mr. Torch.
* Doctor’s excuses will be accepted for lengthy illness or injury, in which case a written report will be required. Grading will be as followed: 1 page per 6 day cycle missed.
* Any student not participating in class for any reason other than a doctor’s excuse will be given a Physical Education related assignment. Failure to complete assignment before end of period will result in further deduction from grade.
Physical Education Rubric - At any time during class the grade can be adjusted – “The Fab 5 PE Rubric”
Progress: Each class students will earn points that will total 100 points by the end of the quarter.
Grading beginning 2nd quarter: Students will be given a 7/6 to start class and can receive a 5/4, a 3/2, or a 1/0 based on their performance on the FAB 5 PE Rubric and PE regulations. At any time during class the grade can be adjusted!
7/6 90%-100% = S+ Always follows PE rubric.
5/4 70-89% = S One/two reminders are given to follow PE rubric.
3/2 65-69% = S- Three/four reminders are given to follow PE rubric.
1/0 Below 65% = U Five/six reminders are given to follow PE rubric.
